Founded by our Chairman Barry Slayford in November 2001, the Croydon Round Table of Inventors is a non profit making club, run by Inventors for Inventors. The club provides support & direction for Inventors that is unavailable elsewhere, at our monthly networking meetings at Croydon Town Hall we are able to provide advice on Research & Development, Prototypes, Patents, Marketing, Manufacture, Exporting, Promotion, Exhibitions, Media and Publicity, an important function of these meetings is to provide networking and Inventor workshop sessions either as a group or on a one to one basis.
Frustrated by the lack of support for inventors, Barry formed the Croydon Round Table of Inventors to encourage other inventors in their quest to make a difference. We are currently working with Croydon Council to set up a high profile base in Croydon that would provide workshops, offices, help with R&D, prototypes, marketing, exhibitions and networking. It is much needed as the government, while backing business in one department, don't seem to be quite sure which way they want to go on this. Fed up with going around and around in circles, every road I took came to a dead end. My first Invention was 25 years ago, since then I have had some 20 Inventions, now through the CRTI , I have the potential to develop some of these into commercial products.
Short term, we have helped to remove some of the obstacles that have prevented Inventors getting there products to market, with minimum cost. Medium term, we are able to formulate a plan of action with our Inventors that would enable them to develop there ideas to the fullest. Long term, the CRTI will provide a permanent centre for Inventors, they will know where to go, secure in the knowledge that they are not being ripped off.
