Croydon Inventors at the British Invention Show

 

 For the 5th year running the Croydon Round Table of Inventors (CRTI) have won Gold and Silver awards at the annual British Invention Show, at Alexandra Palace (Ally Pally), London, held on 17th-20th October 2007.

Among the Gold and Silver Medal winners are:

·         Malachi McKenna:” Wonder Grower”, using his invention, a family of four could be self sufficient and feed themselves.

·         Bill Currie: “Garage Guardian”, “Middle Mate” and “Vacuum Insect Trap” a suction device for observing insects, without harming them.

·         David Chance: “Star Water Wheel”,  fishtail action, boat propeller

·         Brian Lukes: “Remote Controlled, Solar Powered, Parking Post”.

·         Cintra Jaggan-Vince: “Clip & Pull” a self dressing aid for the elderly, infirm & disabled

·         Tim Glover: “Stereoscopic, 3D Picture Frame” lifelike images through a wall.

·         David Bean: “Trojan 3D Gym” a Safety, Free Weight Training Apparatus.

 

  Our inventors closely follow in the footsteps of fellow CRTI members, Mark Sheahan, Paula Ward and Mike Keenan who amongst them have all been the outright winners of “INPEX (USA)”, the Worlds largest Invention Show and The British Invention Show.

Their achievement ensures that Croydon Inventors continue to be World Beaters, putting Croydon firmly on the map as being a “Centre of Invention”.

CRTI and partners are now planning our very own World Invention Show “WIS”, to be held in London, possibly at Crystal Palace in 2008. Crystal Palace was the original site of the Worlds largest ever Invention Exhibition in 1852 with over 13,000 inventions from all over the World, attracting over 6 million visitors.

Croydon Inventors Scoop Gold, Silver and Bronze, again!

 

The Croydon Round Table of Inventors (CRTI) scooped Gold, Silver and Bronze awards at the British Invention Show at Alexandra Palace (20th -23rd October 2005) for the third year running!

 

CRTI Chairman Barry Slayford said, that since our launch at Croydon Town Hall three years ago, our members have won every top British, European and International awards, making it one of the most the most successful Inventor Clubs in the World.

 

A future event “The Big Red Bus Road Show” a CRTI inspired project called “innovatour” was officially announced at the British Invention show (BIS). Launch date is scheduled for 10th March 2006, starting at   Croydon Science Fair, which will be opened by the Mayor of Croydon. On board the bus will be a group of successful, award winning and famous inventors, together with a Patent agent, Business advisor/s and manufacturers.

 

The Bus will be used as a tool to promote London & UK innovation and invention, and will travel to pre-determined locations throughout the UK and Europe, visiting innovation centres, schools, trade shows and exhibitions etc. The mission statement is to raise awareness of: inventor clubs, Local & central Government support, education, setting up of new clubs and leave a footprint for others to follow.

 

Following his success at the BIS, Mark Sheahan, Vice Chairman of CRTI has decided to go to Japan at the Weekend on a British Trade Mission.  To launch two new packaging closure inventions, called Squeezeopen and Popi. www.squeezeopen.com

Innovatour

 

The Big Red Bus Road Show

 

The Big Red Bus Road Show, CRTI inspired “Innovatour” is planned to launch on 10th March 2006 at Croydon Science Fair, by the Mayor of Croydon.

 

We intend to purchase a Red Routemaster Double Decker Bus, the ones that are being phased out by Transport for London (TFL), the Routemaster is an iconic symbol of Great British Innovation.

 

The bus would be used as a tool to promote London, UK innovation and invention. We will travel to pre-determined locations throughout the UK and Europe, visiting innovation centres, Local Authorities, science parks, Town Halls, schools, colleges, universities, enterprise fairs, shows and exhibitions.

 

On board the bus would be a group of successful, award winning and famous Inventors, together with Patent Agents, Business Advisors and Manufactures. These will be joined at each sponsored location, by local Patent Agents and Business Advisors etc.

 

Gazebos would be erected to provide an outdoor shelter and stage area in each location visited, from which inventor displays and demonstrations will take place. Advisors (with promotional material) would use this area to talk to prospective Inventors and Innovators, explaining the help that is available at Inventor Clubs, Local Authorities and Agencies. The interior of the bus would be used to provide “one to one” advice sessions.

The “Innovatour” is an 18 months project, we may extend this period if it proved to be successful. The planned launch date is 10th March 2006 at the Croydon Science Fair by the Mayor of Croydon.

Skill City
 
The Croydon Round Table of Inventors are pleased to announce that we will be at at Skill City, ExCel, Docklands next week, Wednesday 6th July to Saturday 9th July, 10am - 4pm.
 
Our aim is to have at least two inventors on the stand at all times in order to display & promote our inventions, CRTI aims & objectives, and should prove to be a good networking event.
 
The target audience at this event is aged between 12 and 30, with 120,000 expected visitors, not to mention the PLC companies & industry sectors, who will be exhibiting their as well.
 
The LDA/CRTI stand is located at: District 5, Techno Park, stand no TP28
 
The Techno Park will be an innovative and focused district offering visitors a chance to explore the world of IT, telecoms, engineering, virtual technology, gaming and aviation. There will be a chance to have-a-go at some of the emerging and amazing future technologies on offer and to gain an insight into an area of vocational and training opportunities available to everyone.

A MUM OF 5 AND FORMER MODEL, FROM SURREY WINS 9 TOP AWARDS AT THE WORLDS LARGEST NEW PRODUCTS SHOW

IN USA ON SATURDAY 11TH JUNE 2005

MORE THAN ANY OTHER COMPANY IN THE WORLD

 

Paula Ward, from Croydon scooped more awards for the UK than any other country at the weekend for her Parental Internet Guard. After winning Female Inventor of the World 2004, for her prototype,  Paula went on to manufacture the product and entered the show.

Beating over 1,000 Companies from around the World in the Worlds largest new products show.  There were so many awards it was hard to get them home.

 

The President of IBI Global Corporation, presented awards to the exhibitors of INPEX. The award ceremony was held at Heinz Stadium, Pittsburgh, with a host of International dignitaries, at a televised black tie event, on Saturday evening.

 

With over 35 countries and 1000 entries, the 42 international judges decided unanimously, that British Mum of 5 from Surrey, deserved each award for her Parental Internet Guard.  The list of awards include:

We have received confirmation that the Croydon Round Table of Inventors will be having an Invention Fair at the Whitgift Shopping Centre on Saturday 17th January, 9am to 6pm.
We will have prime location at the centre, in Croydon. 100,000 plus visitors are expected at the Centre on the day, together with media coverage. The shopping centre setting is ideally suited for Inventors who have a product to sell to the public or for market research. As space is limited, bookings will be taken on a first come, first served basis, the cost to Inventors will be ?25 per 6 foot stand space, bring your own table or stand.

The Croydon Round Table of Inventors Scooped an amazing 9 awards out of the 17 that were awarded at the British Invention Show, held at the Barbican, London, 6th - 9th November.
Also from Croydon, Paula Ward who won The Inventor of the Year with her Internet and Phone Guard, that makes it an extra amazing 10 winners from Croydon. The award ceremony was packed with over a 100 Inventors from all over the world. Never before, have so few, achieved so much, with so little, from so many, well done Croydon.
The Naked Inventor Calendar featuring 12 Croydon RTI members is selling well, and is on target for 10,000 sales, the proceeds of which will go to charity
